| While recognizing the important role played by the National Health Service, a specific medical need has been identified for timely physiotherapy and psychological therapies in response to physical and emotional traumas related to an individuals military service. |

This need is being met through the engagement by the Aftercare Service of trusted specialist medical service providers who have experience in the treatment of ex-service personnel and, in certain circumstances, their families. When a request for treatment is made the clients eligibility to use the service is confirmed, the Aftercare Medical services provider will then invite the client for a clinical assessment to determine their suitability for treatment. Where the client and therapist have agreed together that benefit would be gained from the range of medical services on offer, treatment will commence. All Psychological assessments will be made within either the Belfast or Holywood area with treatment taking place near Holywood (in certain circumstances treatment may be provided closer to the clients home) All clients seeking physiotherapy will be assessed at Holywood, however those living outside the Greater Belfast area may be offered treatment closer to their home. .
