Aftercare lapel pin

One of the tasks that until recently remained unfinished was the creation of an "Aftercare" identity.

Up until now the service adopted a version of the UDR/ R IRISH cap-badges. However as the Aftercare service covers both regiments it is appropriate for the service to have its own identity alongside the UDR/R IRISH cap-badges. It is for this reason that a design was put together. The design selected for this can be seen below along with an explanation of its makeup.

The design is based on a "Friendship Ring ", representing the Aftercare Service's holistic approach to caring which includes befriending. The "arms" are shamrocks recalling the proud tradition of antecedent Irish regiments within the British Army. The three poppies are for remembrance of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice or were left injured during a period of over three decades, and the Crown depicts the loyalty and service given by all.

Important Note:

The above design is not a replacement for the UDR/R IRISH "Cap Badge"
