Ulster Defence Regiment
The Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR)
Benevolent Fund or "Ben Fund "was established as a
charitable trust in 1972 with the aim of providing grants paid
out immediately to bereaved families and to help serving and
ex-soldiers and their families in need, primarily but not solely
as a result of their UDR service.

Royal Irish Regiment
The Royal Irish
Benevolent Fund was established as a charitable trust in 1992
on the formation of the Regiment and is similar to that of the
UDR Benevolent Fund. The aim is to render aid, financial or
otherwise, to members, their widows and/or dependants who are
in need or in financial difficulties.
